If you must be examined with CT, X-ray, or MRI imaging, remove the sensor. Start a new sensor after the examination.

Recommendations for oily skin?

Although unlikely, the sensor may accidentally fall off, usually due to excessive sweating or movement. Oily skin can make it difficult for the sensor adhesive to adhere firmly. For best results, gently clean the insertion area with alcohol wipes (or pads) to clean and disinfect the skin. Once completely dry, immediately insert the Sensor, pressing firmly on the Sensor base and adhesive tape to achieve a firm adhesion to the skin.

Can I open the Sensor packages ahead of time?

Once the individual Sensor package is opened, the Sensor should be inserted immediately.
Always check the expiration date on the Sensor packaging before opening the Sensor. Do not use expired Sensors.

Can lotions (moisturizing, tanning, etc.) affect the Instara-1 Sensor?

To prevent interference with the adhesive properties, the Sensor should not be applied to a skin area where cream, lotion or powder has recently been applied.

Can I wear it longer than 21 days?

To ensure optimum performance the Instara-1 sensor can be worn for up to 21 days. The App or Receiver will stop data collection automatically when a 21-day wear period is complete.

Does the Instara-1 Sensor Kit include alcohol wipes to clean the skin before inserting a new sensor?

No, alcohol wipes are not included.

How should the Instara-1 sensor be safely replaced?

To remove an expired sensor, gently lift an edge of the adhesive patch and slowly peel the sensor away from the skin.When applying a new sensor, users should choose a site different from the previous one to prevent potential discomfort or skin irritation.

How do I properly activate and wear the Instara-1 CGM, including initialization and pairing steps?

Place the assembled applicator gently on the chosen site. Press the release button firmly to deploy the sensor. For detailed steps, please refer to the instructional video.
After completing app registration, pairing the sensor, and waiting for the 15-minute initialization period, users can begin receiving glucose readings.

What body sites are recommended for wearing the Instara-1 CGM?

The insertion site should have sufficient subcutaneous fat and be a relatively flat area that is not subject to excessive friction or bumping during daily activities.Avoid placing the sensor on skin with lumps or scar tissue, or on areas with dense hair. It is recommended that users wear the sensor on the back of the upper arm.

What preparations are required before wearing the Instara-1 CGM?

Before use, the sensor must be assembled into the applicator.
The selected insertion site should have sufficient subcutaneous fat. Before application, clean the insertion area with an alcohol swab and allow the skin to air-dry naturally for 30 seconds.

What do the glucose trend arrows on the Instara-1 CGM indicate?

In the app, the arrow next to the glucose reading on the home screen indicates glucose trends.A vertical upward or downward arrow represents rapid glucose rise or fall, a horizontal arrow indicates stable glucose, and arrows at a 45° angle upward or downward indicate gradual glucose increase or decrease.

How can blood glucose alerts/alarms be set or turned off in the app?

Users can set high and low glucose alert thresholds in the app under Me > Alert Settings. Options to enable/disable alerts for rapid glucose rise/fall and to activate the glucose prediction feature are also available there.

Avoid injecting insulin or placing an insulin pump infusion set within 3 inches (8 centimeters) of a sensor.

How should adhesive loosening be handled while wearing the Instara-1 CGM?

After sensor application, press firmly around the edges of the adhesive patch and then on the center of the sensor for 30 seconds to ensure it is securely attached.
If the adhesive remains loose and affects accurate readings, replace the sensor and, if necessary, contact customer support for technical assistance.

How should bleeding be handled while wearing the Instara-1 CGM?

For minor bleeding, apply steady pressure over the sensor with sterile gauze or a clean cloth. Once bleeding stops, gently clean the area.
If bleeding persists, or if there is severe pain or discomfort, immediately remove the sensor and apply pressure to the wound until bleeding stops. Inspect the insertion site for redness, swelling, bleeding, irritation, pain, tenderness, or signs of inflammation, and follow the guidance of a healthcare professional for further management.

Why might CGM readings differ from traditional blood glucose meter (BGM) results?

CGM measures glucose in the interstitial fluid, while BGM directly measures capillary whole blood. A physiological delay of 5–15 minutes exists between the two, so differences in readings are normal.

Does the Instara-1 CGM require or support manual calibration?

The product is factory-calibrated and does not require manual calibration by the user.After the 15-minute initialization period, users can begin receiving their glucose readings.

Can I swim or engage in vigorous exercise while wearing the Instara-1 CGM?

With an IPX8 water resistance rating, the sensor can be worn during activities like swimming and moderate exercise. However, take care to prevent the sensor from loosening due to sweat, friction, or impact, which could affect reading accuracy.

How can the cloud platform of the Instara-1 CGM be used?

The system currently connects to Android and iOS smartphones, as well as dedicated handheld devices, to display glucose trends and reports.

What is the Bluetooth connection range between the Instara-1 CGM and its mobile app?

Under unobstructed conditions, the maximum transmission distance between the transmitter and the mobile device is 6 meters.

Does the Instara-1 CGM’s data storage and transmission comply with GDPR and other privacy protection standards?

Currently, the product does not support connection to smartwatches. It is compatible with Android/iOS smartphones, and handheld devices.

How can blood glucose data from the Instara-1 CGM be downloaded, shared, and exported as reports?

After six days of use, you can view the Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP) and share or download PDF reports via the app under Me > Report Management.

How should used disposable applicator needles be safely disposed of?

Used sensors must be disposed of in accordance with medical waste disposal regulations.

What is the shelf life of the Instara-1 CGM?

The product has a shelf life of 18 months.

What sterilization method is used for the Instara-1 CGM?

The product is sterilized using electron beam (e-beam) sterilization.

What are the transportation conditions and temperature requirements for the Instara-1 CGM?
