If you must be examined with CT, X-ray, or MRI imaging, remove the sensor. Start a new sensor after the examination.
Although unlikely, the sensor may accidentally fall off, usually due to excessive sweating or movement. Oily skin can make it difficult for the sensor adhesive to adhere firmly. For best results, gently clean the insertion area with alcohol wipes (or pads) to clean and disinfect the skin. Once completely dry, immediately insert the Sensor, pressing firmly on the Sensor base and adhesive tape to achieve a firm adhesion to the skin.
Once the individual Sensor package is opened, the Sensor should be inserted immediately.
Always check the expiration date on the Sensor packaging before opening the Sensor. Do not use expired Sensors.
To prevent interference with the adhesive properties, the Sensor should not be applied to a skin area where cream, lotion or powder has recently been applied.
To ensure optimum performance the Instara-1 sensor can be worn for up to 21 days. The App or Receiver will stop data collection automatically when a 21-day wear period is complete.
No, alcohol wipes are not included.
To remove an expired sensor, gently lift an edge of the adhesive patch and slowly peel the sensor away from the skin. When applying a new sensor, users should choose a site different from the previous one to prevent potential discomfort or skin irritation.
Place the assembled applicator gently on the chosen site. Press the release button firmly to deploy the sensor. For detailed steps, please refer to the instructional video.
After completing app registration, pairing the sensor, and waiting for the 15-minute initialization period, users can begin receiving glucose readings.
The insertion site should have sufficient subcutaneous fat and be a relatively flat area that is not subject to excessive friction or bumping during daily activities.Avoid placing the sensor on skin with lumps or scar tissue, or on areas with dense hair. It is recommended that users wear the sensor on the back of the upper arm.
Before use, the sensor must be assembled into the applicator.
The selected insertion site should have sufficient subcutaneous fat. Before application, clean the insertion area with an alcohol swab and allow the skin to air-dry naturally for 30 seconds.
In the app, the arrow next to the glucose reading on the home screen indicates glucose trends.A vertical upward or downward arrow represents rapid glucose rise or fall, a horizontal arrow indicates stable glucose, and arrows at a 45° angle upward or downward indicate gradual glucose increase or decrease.
Users can set high and low glucose alert thresholds in the app under Me > Alert Settings. Options to enable/disable alerts for rapid glucose rise/fall and to activate the glucose prediction feature are also available there.

Avoid injecting insulin or placing an insulin pump infusion set within 3 inches (8 centimeters) of a sensor.
After sensor application, press firmly around the edges of the adhesive patch and then on the center of the sensor for 30 seconds to ensure it is securely attached.
If the adhesive remains loose and affects accurate readings, replace the sensor and, if necessary, contact customer support for technical assistance.
For minor bleeding, apply steady pressure over the sensor with sterile gauze or a clean cloth. Once bleeding stops, gently clean the area.
If bleeding persists, or if there is severe pain or discomfort, immediately remove the sensor and apply pressure to the wound until bleeding stops. Inspect the insertion site for redness, swelling, bleeding, irritation, pain, tenderness, or signs of inflammation, and follow the guidance of a healthcare professional for further management.
CGM measures glucose in the interstitial fluid, while BGM directly measures capillary whole blood. A physiological delay of 5–15 minutes exists between the two, so differences in readings are normal.
The product is factory-calibrated and does not require manual calibration by the user. After the 15-minute initialization period, users can begin receiving their glucose readings.
With an IPX8 water resistance rating, the sensor can be worn during activities like swimming and moderate exercise. However, take care to prevent the sensor from loosening due to sweat, friction, or impact, which could affect reading accuracy.
The system currently connects to Android and iOS smartphones, as well as dedicated handheld devices, to display glucose trends and reports.
Under unobstructed conditions, the maximum transmission distance between the transmitter and the mobile device is 6 meters.
Our product complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data privacy laws in the user’s region. For detailed terms, please refer to the Privacy Policy in the Instara mobile app under Settings. If you do not agree with the Privacy Policy, you may delete your account under Account & Security > Delete Account and then uninstall the app.
If you encounter compatibility or update issues while using the app, download the latest version from your device’s official app store and install it over the existing version. If the problem persists, contact customer support for technical assistance.
Currently, the product does not support connection to smartwatches. It is compatible with Android/iOS smartphones, and handheld devices.
We will continue to expand supported hardware and ecosystems to provide users with a more convenient glucose monitoring experience.
After six days of use, you can view the Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP) and share or download PDF reports via the app under Me > Report Management.
Used sensors must be disposed of in accordance with medical waste disposal regulations.
The product has a shelf life of 18 months.
The product is sterilized using electron beam (e-beam) sterilization.
During transportation, the product should be maintained within the following conditions: temperature 2°C–30°C, humidity 10%–90% RH, and atmospheric pressure 600–1060 hPa.
